Rick graduated from Lee University (formerly Lee College) in 1992 where he met his wife Karen. They were married in 1993 and began serving in full time youth ministry in Pinellas Park FL. They served on staff there for more than 8 years teen and young adult pastors. After leaving Pinellas Park, Rick served as teen and young adult pastor in Loxley AL, before again relocating to LaFollette TN, his home town. In LaFollette, youth ministry took on a much different form where he worked as a mental health case worker for teens and children. He was later hired by the local school system as a high school social worker. These various forms of youth ministry reinforce his philosophy that ministry is not limited to the 4 walls of the church. Ministry occurs when people help other people. Rick came to Lake City in June of 2006. He and Karen have a 6 year old daughter Isabel who has lots of energy and loves to worship God.
